  • Define the terms in your guide.

Chemistry

  • Watch Lecture 18: Introduction to Chemical Reactions. Use the guided notes in this section to help you jot down notes as you go to create your textbook pages for this week and reinforce important concepts and ideas.

  • Read section XV, XVI, and XVII of Chemistry for People Who Would Rather Be Reading. Annotate and take notes as you read. (Information from these chapters will appear in future lessons and exams.)

  • Do the Chemistry in a Bag lab.

  • Watch the video for “Lucky Accidents.”



History

  • Watch Lecture 18.

  • Read this week’s section in The Queer, Colorful, Immigrant Lives that Shaped U.S. History. (Here’s the PDF.)

  • Read and annotate primary sources for this week.

  • Make your timeline entries for the events in this week’s discussion. (Use the guidelines on page 15 to create your timeline.)

  • Read and annotate “Democracy” in your literature reader.

  • Read and annotate the speech given by Langston Hughes at the Public Session of the Third American Writers’ Congress in New York City in June, 1939 (in your guide).

  • Answer the discussion question for this week.

  • Work on the Latin passage translation in your workbook. (You have two weeks to finish it.)

  • Answer the free response question.
